On Monday, September 30 at 10 am will be held at the University of Pardubice at the Aula Ernest of Pardubice opening ceremony of the 2013/2014 academic year colleges Czech Republic.

In Pardubice meets almost fifty representatives of Czech higher education institutions – Rectors public, state and private universities, together with the academic community of the University of Pardubice started the new academic year.

Academic feast and a new university year begins his speeches:

  • Rector of the University of Pardubice Professor Miroslav Ludwig,
  • Chairman of the Czech Rectors' Conference – Professor Václav Hampl, Rector of Charles University,
  • Chairman of the Council of Higher Education Institutions – Associate Professor James Fischer
  • Assembly and greets and representative student village – Chairman of the Student Chamber of the Council of Universities Miroslav Jašurek.

Academic ceremony is also associated with a ceremonial session of the Scientific Boards of Universities and Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice and philosophical, in which will be awarded two major, internationally recognized personalities of science honorary title „doctor honoris causa“ University of Pardubice:

  • Chemist Dr. Jean-Luc Adam, from the Institute of Chemical Sciences of the National Scientific Research Centre of the University of Rennes 1 (France) for outstanding contributions to the development of science and research in the field of solid state chemistry and for the development of research cooperation between France and the Czech Republic
  • Historian Prof. Dr. SN Bálagangádhara Rao, Research Center for Comparative Cultural Studies at the University of Ghent (Belgium) for outstanding contributions to the development of comparative cultures and religions for the development of cooperation between European and Indian universities and for his contribution to the development of the field of religious studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Pardubice.

Rector of the University of Pardubice prof. Ing. Miroslav Ludwig, PhD. grant both candidates this honorable, highest academic-scientific degree on the scientific councils of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Chemical Technology.

University of Pardubice follows in the spirit of academic traditions appreciates the leading scientific figures for their contribution to the development of education, science and scientific knowledge and long creative collaboration with institutes and faculties ties with the university. Dr. Jean-Luc Adam and Prof. Bálagangádhara Rao are in the order of 15 and 16 personalities of the scientific world, which the honorary title of „doctor honoris causa“ University of Pardubice belongs and which has been awarded since 1994, when the college was renamed in Pardubice University of Pardubice.
