Palacky University in Olomouc and MusicOlomouc Association, held on 22 to 30 April 2013 the fifth edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Music MusicOlomouc 2013. It will consist of seven concerts (six concerts will be held in Olomouc and one in Jeseníku) and five lectures and discussions .

In interpreting the excellent Czech concert artists heard in the regional premieres of compositions thirty Czech and foreign composers, including one song in the world premiere. MusicOlomouc fifth annual festival is held during the celebrations of the 440th anniversary of the Olomouc University (founded in 1573, restored as Palacky University in 1946).

Orchestral concert at the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra chief conductor Petr Vronsky will be reminded of the four „Olomouc“ the authors acting in the past or at present UP: Paul Cotek, Jan Vicar, Vit Zouhar and Mark Keprt. Of these, the youngest Marek Keprt perform as a soloist at the premiere of his compositions for piano, soprano and orchestra. One of chamber concerts in the Chapel of Corpus Christi will be on the work of the Prague Composers Association Atelier '90. The interpretation of the world-famous Czech Boys Choir Hradec Králové besides others Elegy for children killed by Mark Kopelent. Stamic Quartet performs during another evening all the string quartets of Sofia Gubaidulina.

The Russian-Tatar composer working in Germany is currently considered the most important composer of contemporary music in the world. Organizers are discussing her personal involvement in the festival as a guest of honor. In the impressive setting of the Corpus Christi Chapel also be an untraditional dvojrecitál Solo Trombone & Tuba solo. The laureates of international competitions and today members of the Czech Philharmonic and Karel Lukas Moťka Malimánek to bring him avant-garde solo repertoire for deep brass instruments. For the first time since its inception in 1912 sounds in Olomouc extensive melodrama Pierrot Lunaire by Arnold Schoenberg. Like its protagonist and as a composer's own song cycle with soprano Theresa Švarcová. The second half of the evening will be devoted to the work of young Czech composers.
