The exhibition is installed, the head of graphic design studio of the Faculty of Fine Arts, BUT Mgr. Vaclav Houf as follows:

  • "Today's young generation is often perceived as something Macha May vyčichlého antiquarian and what is only part of the graduation questions. Superannuated troubadour who do not fit into today's digital age. But like any great work of art, and May can be interpreted in many ways. The author himself gave a poem with the remark that the main purpose of music is a celebration of spring nature. The reason for putting such a work was an attempt to confuse contemporary censorship. Today, Maya is a sense often reduced to a mere apotheosis of nature and love, which also helps to memorize the opening lines in schools.

But Macha poetic language is fresh and contemporary. His speech is metaphorical and art, as he himself engaged in creative activities. Converting these literary images into visual language was a challenge in the early 20th century. The most famous illustrator Maja John became rusty. His works show a gripping theme Maya as a pure dream world with all the romantic attributes. It is interesting to see how they cope with that challenge the current young generation weaned on computers. Students tried to highlight the hidden layers of the story and interpret the spirit of the work of the less common angles. Macha is still inspiring his life confrontation with the unknown of death. Macha time was different – the forests were still deep, dark and frightening. Feel respect and sometimes fear of something that is important to us beyond even today full of other darkness. "*
