Lecture on man power and nuclear energy at the University of Pardubice

On Wednesday 2 March at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Pardubice – H1 in the classroom (in the faculty building, the square Cs. Legion 565) – will take place from 10 am lecture, „A man of energy and nuclear energy.“

Lecture chairman Ing. Dana Drabova, Ph.D., President of the State Office for Nuclear Safety. The Madam Speaker, this time accompanied by CEZ personnel and representatives of the nuclear power plant Ing. Paul Simak.

The theme for the lecture organizers Ing. Zavadilová Martin adds:

  • „Man Lecture, energy and nuclear energy is one of a series of meetings in which Dana Drabova introduces students to the growing demands of the population on the availability and amount of electricity they can no longer be the primary non-renewable resources to meet, with threats of large-scale network failures in developed countries, ways to use renewable energy sources and operations and the safety of nuclear power plants. Ing. Dana Drabova, Ph.D. (1961) is a Czech nuclear physicist. Pyšely comes from central Bohemia, where he lives. Currently Chair of the State Office for Nuclear Safety and is dubbed "Atomic Lady. In 2010, the decision of the Government became a member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Between 1980 – 1985 studied at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering CTU, Department of Dosimetry and application of ionizing radiation. She finished her dissertation Measurements of neutrons and the dose from neutrons with mikrodozimetrie, won the title of Ing. Between 1994 – 2000 was devoted to doctoral studies in the field of nuclear physics, received his Ph.D. 1985 – 1995 worked at the Centre for Radiation Hygiene Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology – later the National Health Institute – where she focused on protection against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. Since 1992, the Deputy Head of Headquarters of the radiation monitoring network in the Czech Republic. 1995 – 1996 was the director of emergency preparedness at the Department of State Office for Nuclear Safety in 1996 – 1999 Director of the National Radiation Protection Institute, 1 November 1999 President of the State Office for Nuclear Safety, from November 2006 to November 2009 chaired the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA).
