The second part of the educational project linking physiology and medicine started

In May 2010, successfully completed the first of four cycles of an educational project entitled 'From physiology to medicine "- the integration of science, research, training and practice, which is open to both university students and students from the high school, their teachers and junior staff science and research, especially in biomedical fields.

Now, participants can register to the second part of the project, whose set of lectures, seminars and excursions just starting. File educational courses organized by the Institute of Physiology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Veterinary University in Brno in cooperation with the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics AS CR, Medical Faculty of Masaryk University, Institute of Experimental Medicine AS CR, vvi Veterinary-Medical University of Vienna and other workplaces.

  • „Physiology is a branch of a very dynamic and prestigious, as evidenced by the annually awarded Nobel Prize in this field along with medicine. Award-winning discoveries in the field of physiology is therefore often related to possible applications just in medicine. Quick orientation in current knowledge, their effective use and links to current practice is the key to success not only in scientific research. The purpose of the project "From Physiology to Medicine“ is therefore to allow extra training, and particularly their own hands-on experience of the participants, "* says Assoc. RNDr. Eva Matalova, Ph.D. Institute of Physiology FVL VFU Brno and one of the guarantors of professional project.

The first cycle of the project, which ran from February to May 2010, has focused on the physiology of the pathophysiological aspects. Just starting the second cycle in the first part of the training courses followed and acquaints participants with the current options and use the knowledge gained in medical practice, veterinary and humane. Right now opened registration for the October issue, which is the physiology-pathophysiology-diagnosis. These courses are organized in cooperation of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno and Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute and are focused on a very hot topic, and a diagnosis of cancer. The diagnostic problem then follow courses in human and veterinary medicine, which will be organized in collaboration with the Medical Faculty of Masaryk University and Faculty Hospital in Brno. The entire series of courses leading from physiology to pathophysiology through the medicine will be closed in December 2010 and successful graduates receive a certificate.

The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic. Official partners of the project are of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno and Palacky University in Olomouc. Courses are held in several times and all activities take place in an informal atmosphere, allowing the rich discussion and integration of emerging and experienced staff of science, research and medicine, educators and students, the motivation for further education and practical application.
