Approaching the 2010 conference ABAF

Press news

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technology (FIT) and the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry Academy of Sciences (IIC), going 11th Annual International Conference of Advanced Batteries, Fuel Cells and accumulators (ABAF). This conference will be held in Glasgow from 19 – 22 September 2010.

At these conferences regularly flock experts from across Europe and from all parts of the world. Conference for its time, associated mainly professional, but also part of the general public. "* It will be 11th Conference series, and was attended by scientists from the already more than 27 countries worldwide. Traditional is also interested scientists from East and Far East countries, * "said the main organizer of the conference ** Assoc. Ing. Mary Sedlaříková **, PhD. ** Institute of Electrical and Electronic (UETE) **. Great importance to a conference in relation to environmental issues and electrochemical power sources, especially in terms of performance and longer battery life by using new materials and technologies, etc. "* The main goal was and is monitoring the main direction of research and development of advanced chemical sources of energy * , "says Assoc. Sedlaříková.

The focus of this conference consists primarily of presenting findings of research-oriented material on the electrochemistry of systems in which moisture is rigorously excluded (electrochemistry of lithium metal and related systems). Another important and promising direction of research and development of electrochemical supercapacitors, used for load balancing and sampling of new electrical power systems. Finally, the conference will post on lithium – ion batteries not only in research but also practical applications, and the latest findings on lead and alkaline accumulators. „* We consider these issues in a very timely and important, so we've taken with other experts on the Renaissance *,“ says Professor **. Vondrak ** from the same institute. It is at the Institute of Electrical Research in the field of electrochemical power sources a long tradition (40 years). The research is focused on the area of lead-acid batteries, alkaline batteries, both types of advanced lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, and low-temperature fuel cells and H2-O2. This issue will also have completed projects, namely: the Ministry of Education Research Grant project („Resources, Accumulation and Optimization of energy use podmínkávh sustainable development“), Grant GA ("increased safety lithium-ion batteries) and has also obtained a European project Regional Centre CVVOZE (Cetrum research and use of renewable energy sources).

The conference will be a myriad of famous Czech experts. The prominent international personalities include Prof.. Arnaldo Visintina ** ** from the University of La Plata, Argentina. ** Furthermore, Dipl. Ing. Dr. Stefan Koller ** Vartabatterien, Austria, Technical University of Graz, Austria, Doc. Leonidas Papadimitrioua ** ** University of Thessaloniki, Greece and Dr. ** German Ferrerra **, University di Palermo, Italy, pčedevším who work in the field of lithium-ion batteries. These experts are on the tips of their branches. "* I think this year will be as the occupancy of the scientific capacities of one of the richest, this year's conference will offer an interesting experience for all * about the importance of action ** Assoc. Sedlaříková **.

Conference – as well as scientific and research activities of the group ** Assoc. Sedlaříkové and Prof. Vondrák ** – not just a matter of pure theory. Great emphasis was put on and collaboration with industry. For many years, thus participating in this conference, workers from major industrial companies. One such company is BOCHEMIE as Graphite Kropfmühl GmbH, Germany, Elmarco sro Liberec and other organizations, such as the H test as Prague, Metrohm AG, Switzerland Group, Sigma Aldrich Ltd., etc. Enhancing networking and other industrial contacts also include the priorities of participants and staff UETE.

** Information about the faculty: ** Electrotechnical disciplines were first at the technical university, BUT the first time in 1905. Since 1959, when it was founded as an independent faculty of energy, which later transformed into the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, has successfully completed engineering studies at our faculty over 23 000 graduates. In 2001 she received the present name of Science – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technology (FIT) and a year later she conceived the accreditation of new advanced degree programs in a structured study. The faculty has more than 4,400 students in bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs. Studying at the faculty is focused on a wide range of scientific areas: control technology and robotics, biomedical engineering, power electronics and electrical engineering, electrotechnology and electronics, microelectronics, and Radioelectronics Teleinformatics.
